Here is an update from Seth Clevenstine, Direct Broadcast Manager.
Currently the GOES-16 HRIT/EMWIN broadcast is down due to a
ground system anomaly that we're testing a fix for in hopes to have it up and
running by next week. I'll post an update by the end of the week regarding the
broadcast and it's status. I apologize for the delay in communication.
I would also like to take the time to point out the GOES
East transition schedule.
Key Dates for GOES East Transition:
- November 30th, the HRIT/EMWIN broadcast will be offline while GOES-16 will transition eastward at 1.41 degrees a day
- December 11th, GOES-16 will stop it's drift at 75.2 degrees West.
- December 14th, ~1530Z GOES 13 will turn off the LRIT transponder
- December 14th, ~1545Z GOES 16 will turn on the HRIT transponder
- December 14th, ~1545Z, the HRIT ground system will start broadcasting to HRIT/EMWIN as the operational GOES East satellite.
